When in London, we had a lovely wee airbnb place near Tower Hill. (I'm loving airbnb so much, and may have looked at castles that you can rent all over the world..) Although we didn't actually go to the Tower of London, it was so nice to walk past it - and the bridge - a couple of times a day. I've been inside once and I really want to revisit now that I've actually studied lots of things related to the Tower, like the Tudors and the Secret Services. It's such an interesting place! I actually applied for an internship there recently and it was the saddest thing in my life when I didn't get it. Seriously. You might have read about my woes already if you're my Twitter friend. And I might start stalking the Historic Royal Palaces' website from now on and see whenever they have vacancies. Because, honestly, I can't think of many places that would be more amazing to work at. The Tower Hill is possibly one of my favourite places in London. It's so pretty and you can see so many lovely little things. The Tower Bridge is pretty, the Tower of London is amazing and you can also see the Gherkin which is my favourite building. The only thing I regret not doing on this trip is buying the roasted almonds (?) that this man was selling every day on the bridge and that smell divine. (I've had similar ones in Tallinn and they're so goood.)

my new friend bob
Obviously I've not actually made a human friend, I'm not good at being sociable and doing all that. (Haha.) Isn't that why we're all on le internet? And even though I don't claim to be good at hairdressing either, that's something I occasionally do. I had actually planned on doing a post in which I would have once and for all moaned about my hair and then let it be as everyone must be as sick of hearing me complain about my hair as I was of it. In my eyes the over-grown pixie made me look like Gaston (from Beauty and the Beast) or one of those 18th century males wearing wigs. So, I am still in the process of growing out my hair, but I could not deal with life and chopped of the mullet (because that's what it was...). This still isn't ideal but it is so much better than it was! The hair will definitely be kept behind my ear because otherwise I think I just look strange. Now I'm only wondering why it took me this long to get this done as I'm very happy with this. For now. (I'm less happy with the title of this post because now it's reminding me of Twin Peaks Bob and making me uncomfortable. Twin Peaks Bob creeps me out.)
P.S. I'm not naked, if you want to know. Just wearing a tube playsuit!

project 365: 061-067
061 After a few days in Leeds with my Finland pals, we packed our bags in order to be ready for a wee trip to London.
062 I'll most likely be doing quite a few proper London posts of all the touristy places I took us to see. As soon as I get myself around to editing the photos, or at least to organizing them in some manner. There's just too many! London was just as lovely as ever, and because this was my first more touristy trip there in almost ten years, I really didn't mind going to all the same places again. I hope I never get bored of visiting them, because I do love London.
063 I may have taken Johanna and Jenna (who I was visiting with) to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard, not realizing that it is still early spring that meant it only happens every other day, and I made us wait for an hour before someone told this to us. Even though it clearly said so in the sign right in front of us. A bit of a fail. This was something I've actually not seen myself yet, and really want to see the Changing of the Guard. So, maybe next time!
064 After taking the lil' Finnish persons back to the airport, I was on my way back to Leeds. Coach life. I did have quite a lovely time in London, and their first visit seemed to be quite alright as well, so that was good:-)
065 Some of the books I'm trying to get read at the moment. I'm studying the Reformation in Scotland and the British Secret Services now.
066 Johanna and Jenna brought me some things that my mum had given them (as well as bringing me some chocolate eggs themselves!). I've not read this Moomin magazine yet, but it looks amazing!
067 And to make up for the fact that I hardly did any reading all week, this is how I spent my Sunday!

brace yourselves (and other cliché titles)
Jeans - Vero Moda
Top - H&M
Earrings - Urban Outfitters
Braces - 2nd hand
Every time I pick up these pink braces I wonder how come they don't make their way into outfits more often. Braces are so great, and these are so pink and cute. And as I love things with stories behind them, the fact that I've had these since I was ~5 is definitely a bonus. (It also means that they're so tiny that I can only wear them with really high-waisted things, haha.)
Other things I've been wondering about lately are what an earth can I do with my hair other than try and pin it all up? (Solved this by buying a few little claw clips, but the monotony is still doing my head in.) How is there only a few short weeks for me to finish my dissertation? (I am definitely not ready for this.) Have I already been to London so often this year that I should actually move there? (Possibly aye.) How am I supposed to prepare for an interview when they are only letting people know if they're invited to interviews two days beforehand? (Not ready for that either!) And obviously, what is life? (Because, I mean, what is life without an existential crisis lurking in the shadows most of the time?)
Hope you've had a lovely week so far and will have an even better weekend! It doesn't feel like the weekend at all to me, genuinely thought it was Monday for quite a while today. But I'll be cramming all the history books I can fit into these two days and trying to do some London-photo editing as well, so I'll see you soon!

project 365: 054-060
054 Actually cooked proper food and baked too. Wish I did both more often!
055 Accidentally bought new nail polishes. I was only getting some BB cream, but how can you say no to a buy two get one free, eh?
056 Stopped by my favourite cemetery, and was going to take some outfit photos, but 1) it was really windy and 2) my camera run out of battery. Gives me an excuse to go back, I suppose.
057 My new memory card arrived. Plus a very accurate self-portrait.
058 Outfit details.
059 London at night. Just went to get a couple of my Finland mates from the airport, but I'm going back to London with them to do touristy things, so you should expect a few more (and better) London photos:-)
060 A day in Leeds and the best wee hot dog. And rose lemonade. So fit, you guys.
Sorry I've been a bit MIA last week, and possibly will be this week as well with me being in London and all. But I'll be back as soon as I can, and as much as I can. Anyway, did you all have a good week, do anything exciting?

project 365: 047-053
047 The salty liquorice my mum sent me after I told her that I wanted them, haha. Could actually cry because I finished them in a day. Why don't non-Nordic people understand how good salty liquorice is, eh? Then again I've given sweets and chocolate and all that up for lent, so I couldn't enjoy these wee ones even if I still had them!
048 Laundry day. Oooh, exciting.
049 Getting back into the habit of wearing darker lips, and rambling about gold jewellery in my last post.
050 But not wearing dark lips every day, because it's starting to feel like spring and I know I'll be all about them coral lips soon:--)
051 These crisps are the best thing in the world. Really.
052 Wearing my cross after such a long time. After rambling about all the jewellery I kind of want to start wearing all of my favourites more often. This one was a confirmation gift, and I really like it and all the memories that go with it! :-)
053 Snackin'.

gold jewellery (and grainy photos!)
Shirt - 2nd hand
Leggings&Rings in right hand - Primark
Rings in left hand - Topshop
Earrings - Mama's old
Necklace - Gift from my godmother
Firstly, can we talk about how excited I am about being able to plait my hair again? Obviously it's not long enough for proper plaits, but it's getting there. And even that is very exciting news.
Secondly, you know, when you buy something and mentally pair it with something to make an outfit? This shirt is one of those items, and I rarely wear it with something else than these leggings. Pretty sure there's another post from a couple of years ago with me wearing the exact same combination, but never you mind!
Thirdly and lastly, to match the gold tones of the leggings and the golden threads in the shirt, I dug up a few of my gold pieces from the jewellery box. You might've seen the Topshop rings briefly in one of my daily photos, and really love them. I might have been wearing them all the time, but I mean, you can't really overuse rings, can you? Whereas I've been wearing the rings almost daily, I've also realized I've many things that I love but don't use as much. After I got these earrings from my mum they've been a favourite that I used to wear all the time when I was ~17. Similarly, when I got the little angel necklace, I never took it off my neck for almost two years until the original chain broke. I was ten when that happened and it possibly took me another ten years to replace the chain.. But now I love it just as much and wish I still wore it as much. It's funny how you can have those go-to pieces that are a staple for you for years and then at some point you just change them. Or perhaps replace them. It's not as if I started disliking any of them, I just can't see myself having the same earrings or the same necklace every day right now. The only piece of jewellery that I actually do have on me at all times is the wee silver (ooh, I'm still wearing gold&silver at the same time, controversial!) ring on my right lil' finger. Even that is just something that I've only gotten so used to in five (I think?) years that it'd be strange without it. And it's been on my finger so long now, that if I take it off my finger looks deformed.
Right, cool story Laura. Maybe go get some sleep. (Especially when talking to oneself in the third person..) See you later, lovelies♥!
