first times

Top - Only
Skirt - Primark
Cardi - H&M

Bag - Gift
Watch - Grandpa's old
Ring - Urban outfitters

I'm going to be quite busy till the end of the month. I have only two exams this autumn but I only started reading history this week. And this is the first time I read history in two years, phew. I actually find history interesting but there's so much to remember. Studying Finnish history also makes me wish grandpa was still here to tell me stories about war time.

I had my second kantele lesson today and for the first time in a long time I'm really liking playing. Hopefully it'll be more enjoyable this year. I do like playing but at times it feels like it's more of a must than what I want to do. While waiting for mama to pick me up I had time to read a whole book of history so now there's only 3 to go. (And the notes etc.)

nya saker

Here's some birthday presents I got. Every year I think I'm not that excited for my birthday and then I get presents and I'm like a wee child. I love presents - both giving and receiving:). Mama's present was to take me for a meal and dessert, that's yet to do. My birthday will last long as we haven't even talked about going somewhere yet. Not that I mind!

(I do have pants on!)

P.S. People seem to know I like the Moomins.. I collect the mugs but other merchandise is always welcome too!

Dress - Primark
Headband&Earrings - New look

It was my 19th on Friday. We only went out for lunch with mama and my sister, and these few days we've had some visitors and I've baked three cakes during the weekend haha. The Primark dress above is what I wore both at school and later on. I considered going out one day for a second but didn't feel like it. There's only two places near enough (ehm, within 30km..) that are "popular" and anyway, I'm not that keen on going out in Finland as I dislike half the people in my town. Seriously, I'm so antisocial!

What I'm wearing today:
Dress - 2nd hand/Diy
Vest - H&M

Today I'm back to everyday and have to think about school again. I have a maths exam tomorrow and you can imagine that I haven't really been looking into that.. But, also, I'll be reading my newest addition on my bookshelf! I bought "The Jane Austen Handbook" as a birthday present for myself from amazon. It arrived weeks ago but I only opened it on Friday and I love the book. Can't wait to finish it! :)

One night I was sitting and wasting my time on the computer. (This doesn't happen often or that..) Then I noticed the sky was looking really beautiful. I was too lazy to get out but took pictures anyway. I love it when the sky's red, purple or orange. Or all of them at the same time.

he loves me, he loves me not

Shorts&Belt -  2nd hand
Shoes - Topshop
Bag - Marimekko
The rest - H&M

Just a quick post, I'm supposed to be doing maths.. I have (yet another) test on Thursday and tomorrow I'm having a lotr-night so there'll be no time for maths then! Luckily I have a few free periods that I can use constructively on revising.

Mind the time when you always checked if someone loved you by pulling the petals out of a daisy. I was walking home from the bus, saw the flower and had to try it again. No one seems to love me but it's ok, I didn't even have someone particular on my mind.

Have a lovely dayy♥!

i'm like cat here, a no-name slob. we belong to nobody and nobody belongs to us. we don't even belong to each other.

Finished this dress, that I had lying around, today. Originally it was quite huge and I took it apart and made it sleeveless and smaller from every direction. The fabrics really sheer so I have to wear a petticoat under it but it doesn't matter at all. The colour and pattern are light but in reality it has these small violet flowers on the dress. All in all, I'm rather happy with this!

Then I just had to try this tutorial, isn't she adorable! My hair doesn't look that perfect but I was surprised to find out it was so easy to do. This certainly isn't something I'll start doing every morning at 6 o'clock but it's nice to know I can do this. I'm far too lazy with my hair!

wall of stuff

I have this noteboard on my wall and every now and then I change the stuff on it. This is how it has looked since I came back from Scotland. Mostly I put quotes, doodles and photos on it. The picture of me and my friends on our Olds' day has been there for almost 3 years now. And my giraffe-watch (my first ever watch) has been there for much longer. Sometimes I have things that I actually need to remember on it - like the receipt from the library so I'd take my books back someday.

Then I've got this list of things I was going to do this summer, just basic things. For me summer ends when September starts, so I figured there's still over a week to complete the list. I've watched Disney-movies (almost all of them, haha!) and nearly completed one of my movielists (=movies I want to see),  spent time with Cleo, eaten nice summerfoods (also in some of my favourite places), taken photos and I'm progressing with the Sunday roasts. Haven't read and sewed as much as I thought though. Luckily there's still summer left to do that! But I wonder if #14 will ever happen...

jewels and pearls

Wednesday's outfit:
Shorts - Lindex
Shirt - Mama's old, my auntie has made it
Cardi - Grandma's old
Necklace - Gift from France

Last year I had the school uniform, and I love(d) it. The idea of a dress code has always been something I wanted to experience and I pretty much had waited for it all my life. The combination of a dark skirt, white shirt and tie is just so sweet! Therefore last year was great. I don't think any schools in Finland have dress codes, so the only way to wear one is to study abroad.

The school uniform might not be exciting as you don't have that many options but still I love(d) it. I still have this one year of school left (before uni or wherever I get myself..) and it's been strange not to have any kind of a dress code. The moment when you are just awake, standing in front of your wardrobe, trying to decide what to pull on, has never been this difficult. So in the end I often just have to take the first clothes I get to my hand, after looking into the massive piles of clothing for 15 minutes..

Good to text while taking pictures! :-D

Thursday's outfit:
Dress - New look
Bow - From a H&M dress
Bracelet - Dior/Present
Ear rings - Mama's

This week I discovered that I can wear jewellery again. With the school tie it was quite pointless to put a necklace on and nearly all my shirts were long-sleeved so bracelets weren't used often too. Now it should be easier to use other accessories than rings, ear rings and headbands. Hopefully I'll learn to use them all like I did before last year, haha! So many things I haven't used in ages!

My latest love.

Have you found some new music loves? :)

because you need to study, even if it's sunny

Top - 2nd hand/Diy
Skirt - Self-made
Shoes - Topshop
Bag - Marimekko

I had kind of thought I'd have time to blog more now that I'm back in school. Of course I knew it'd take a lot of my time, especially as the bus to school takes almost an hour, but still. This summer I hardly did anything so it felt pointless to try and write something. "Hey, I woke up, read a book and ate loads. I wore the same dress I had on yesterday. xoxo." Now I'm starting to be more inspired and there's no need to force myself to write a few lines.

Still, I was wrong about the time. I only have four courses just now but I still have a lot of homework. Also I'm doing a few of my final exams this autumn and there's only a month till the first one. All this means that the time I have should be spent on studying.

P.s. Isn't it typical that the weather gets much better once you go back to school/work? Today has been such a warm day, and so was yesterday. Might go for a swim later this evening!
