new house

We have this tradition with my godmother that I go over before Christmas to make a gingerbread house. We've been doing it for 9 years, I think! Buuut this year, I made two. Not because I'm greedy and have a sweet tooth (although that might be true..), but because I made the other one as a present for my sister and brother. I guess that's being greedy as well 'cause now I don't have to share my own house. Anyway, I think it's a nice present. These pictures are showing my house, the other one (obviously) is wrapped:-)

Building gingerbread houses isn't really something you do all around the world, but have any of you made one? :)

How adorable are these! Seriously. I've read Doe Deere Blogazine for ages and now discovered her tumblr. So adorable; she herself, the blog and now the tumblr:). I'm dreaming a little about someone buying me Lime Crime make-up for Christmas.. This would be exactly the kind of things my friends would think I'd like, I'm often thought about like this "I don't think anyone else than Laura would look good in that!" and "What weird and wonderful items I'd find in your wardrobe!" I myself can't see my style as so peculiar, but maybe there's something to it.. At least I can't see anyone of my friends lusting for lipglosses coloured like this, like I am. But these are just fantastic! :)

about last weekend..

As I said yesterday, I was at my godfather's birthday party this weekend:) He used to live here, only a few kilometres away from my house, but now he's moved to the south. Therefore, it was really nice to go all the way there and see him. I actually hadn't seen him in over a year!
I wore the same dress I had at Jenna's graduation party. It's such an easy dress! You don't really need accessories because the flower print is quite overpowering, I only had these wee diamond ear rings.

We stayed at my auntie's summer cottage on the way to the party and on the way home. She thought I looked really familiar, and no wonder.. Originally, after I shortened this dress, she had sewn it and my leather jacket I wore is also my auntie's old! I was pretty much dressed like my auntie, some 40 years ago:-)

I've been really busy, so I've almost forgotten this blog.. I've been away at my auntie's and my godfather's 70th birthday and school and what not. Only one day of school though. So on Thursday my Christmas holiday will begin, yay! :-)

homesick because i no longer know where home is

Jeans - Vero moda
Shirt - Topshop

Ring - Urban outfitters

Sometimes (actually quite often....) I miss last year and being in Scotland. Biggest cons of being an exchange student: coming back home. To help my longing I dress myself school uniformely, basically meaning that I wear a white shirt. It's not that big a thing but, anyway, it does make me feel a little less lost. Also, wearing a basic white shirt is a real time-saver in the morning; you just need a pair of dark trousers etc. to go with it.

maybe i'm amazed

Oh, I'll never get over how amazing Macca was♥. I'm actually thinking it was the best ~3h of my life, and I'm so glad I decided to buy the ticket. Ken it was expensive but now after Monday, I can say it was more than worth it. Heard pretty much all my favourite (well, not all, but them I'm liking the most just now) Beatles-songs, like "Hey Jude", "Blackbird", "The long and winding road", "The night before"... And then other McCartney songs and Wings and The Fireman.

And he really is great live, you can see he puts an great effort in it and enjoys it himself:) He had learned Finnish sentences to say and everything! And I don't think many artists these days play almost 3 hours without a pause. Paul McCartney, please be mine:'(

The quality of these photos and the video isn't so great, but it's not the most important thing, you know. Even without any pictures, I'll always remember this as one of the most beautiful experiences I've had♥.

these are a few of my favourite things

 1. My grandparents' engagement picture.

 2. The Royal Coat of Arms. My dad made this family tree of the royals. When I was really wee I thought it was our family tree. Still hoping I can add my name to the bottom one day, with "m." meaning married...

 3. My grandma's old pin cushion. It's like a rocking chair and it's made out of a beer can!

 4. Old medicine bottles.

 5. A painting of my grandma by my dad. Apparently she didn't like it as she thought it made her look too old... What a funny little woman you were! I think the picture really looks like grandma at that time (1997).

 6. My clothes stand.

 7. Canon AE-1. I can't find a battery to fit this! Otherwise I'd love to use it, old film cameras are the best cameras there is.

 8. A vintage lamp I bought at an auction some years ago.

 9. My first Vagabonds. So much love for these shoes♥.

10. An old suitcase, my grandparents' old. I use it as a place to store my diaries.

 11. My "baldachin". Would be grand to own a proper baldachin one day, but for the time being, I'm contented with this one.

12. My baby frame. It's got my name, weight, height, time of birth and that on it, and there's a picture of a six-year-old  me.
