project 365: week twenty-one
141: I started the week with an exciting day of cleaning the flat and doing other boring things like shining my shoes.

hietaniemi cemetery
Another cemetery post, because who doesn't love cemeteries? I didn't think photos of the presidents' graves would be that interesting to anyone else but me, so I'm not sharing those. (There's a part of Mannerheim's tombstone, though, if you can and want to spot it.) Maybe when I complete my collection with the missing two, I'll post about it, because apparently I now collect pictures of presidents' graves. Sounds about right for a strange new hobby for me to have. But here's some other little shots and impressions of the Hietaniemi cemetery.

florals at the cemetery
Not too long ago I was talking about wanting to explore the Hietaniemi cemetery in Helsinki this summer, and now I've already started my exploration. The cemetery is quite large, though, so I know I'll need to go back for at least one more (most likely two) trip at some point. But even this short look around it was so lovely!

project 365: week twenty
134: Last Monday I started the week with a trip to Helsinki to see my mum for belated Mother's Day activities. We spent the day in Hietaniemi exploring the cemetery, having a picnic and swimming on the beach. It was good, but I only got to see about a third of the cemetery and am excited to go back to see more/all of it. I could explore cemeteries all day!

vintage honey(duke)
I had lots of spring outfits, like this one, planned out but it seems like we're now fully in summer and most of these spring outfits I had in my head won't work in the heat. It's been +30°C and I was not prepared for that! I've already started swimming in the sea, eating ice cream outside and sleeping with the window open, so if I have to stop doing these things and start wearing leggings or other warm things again, I'm going to be bummed.

azores: mosteiros
Another one of my Azores favourites was Mosteiros. It's the prettiest, most quaint little town and definitely worth checking out if you're in São Miguel. The name of Mosteiros means monastery in English and it's called that because one of the islets looks like a church. I really loved it!

project 365: week nineteen
127: After my almost-a-week in Helsinki, I had a migraine on Monday and just stayed in bed with my three-day-old plaits and the remnants of the day before's make-up. Charming.

azores: sete cidades
One of the main things I had wanted to see in São Miguel, and the Azores in general, was Sete Cidades. If you google Azores, the chances are that pictures of this stunning place pop up. And no wonder, the crater lakes, the volcano, the village and everything in the area is simply gorgeous.

azores: museu militar dos açores
I think it's become somewhat clear that I'm into my museums and history. It'll be no surprise that I had to squeeze in at least one museum visit on my Azores trip. And the Museum Militar dos Açores was well worth seeing!

project 365: week eighteen
120: It has been such a long week so this feels like it was a small forever ago. But, on Monday I basically just had a day of running errands, such as walking through the woods to the post office. It's annoyingly far, but a pretty walk nonetheless!

azores: whale watching
Whale watching is a major attraction to anyone going to the Azores and, honestly, it was a highlight for me too. It was so good! These are all basically just the same photo of the ocean over and over, but I couldn't help but include them all.

the azores: ponta delgada
I honestly thought I had blogged about my trip to the Azores when it happened last May, but it turns out I haven't. So get ready for lots of Azores pictures and posts! My friend Camilla and I spent a few days on the São Miguel Island, which is the largest of the islands. And it was such an amazing time in such a gorgeous place.
