life with chronic pain

On this blog and on social media, I often mention in passing how I've been feeling ill/poorly, having migraines or headaches, but I've never been more explicit on the matter. And for quite a while now I have actually wanted to start talking more about these topics, maybe even health (physical and mental) in general. Because, here's the thing: I've lived with chronic pain for over a decade now. It has not been a fun experience.

butterflies in a field

I don't know who and where I thought I was, believing that wearing a mere t-shirt would be enough. Granted it was quite warm, but I still could only bear to take my coat off for two seconds. I just wanted to wear this skirt and as soon as this t-shirt (and some other Adidas bits) arrived, I felt optimistic and deceived by the warmth of the sun I could feel through the window and changed from a more weather-appropriate outfit to this.

barcelona: the rest

This Barcelona trip for me was all about Gaudí, but I did see and do other things as well. I walked a lot and while walking saw lots of things. That's usually one of my favourite things to do when travelling: just wandering the streets and possibly stumbling upon something interesting or pretty. Or anything really. (Although, now that I think about all the walking I did in the heat, it's still making me tired and making my tiny feet ache.)

barcelona: more gaudi

Is it a surprise that I'm back with even more Gaudí? But there can never be too much Gaudí, can there. The other buildings I saw or visited in Barcelona were Casa Milà or La Pedrera, Sagrada Família and the Palau Güell. And they're all obviously beautiful.

project 365: week eleven

071: The weather's been wild basically all week. On Monday there was snow, rain and sunshine, and it's kind of been a mix of all three ever since. Where is spring?

barcelona: park guell

After Casa Batlló, Park Güell was at the top of my list. It was the nicest weather (so warm!), so it was a dream to spend basically a full day in the park. It has all the most gorgeous architecture, the loveliest greenery and the most pleasant atmosphere in the prettiest place. You bet I was Gaudí fangirling!

barcelona: casa batllo

I've got a few Barcelona posts coming up now, from when I visited in the summer, and to be honest they're mostly fangirling about Antoni Gaudí. First and most importantly about Casa Batlló - my one true love and long-time obsession. Seeing Casa Batlló and other Gaudí masterpieces was basically the sole reason for me to want to visit Barcelona. Which is why I immediately bought the tickets when I saw how cheap they were and when the city basically was on my way travelling from Portugal to Finland.

thursday thoughts pt. 50

Usually my "Thursday Thoughts" include a quote and maybe some thoughts of my own. But for International Women's Day I've selected a few quotes by a few amazing women that I've found inspiring lately:

project 365: week nine

Usually I post these weekly Project 365 posts on a Monday, but I'm pretty sure nobody will notice this being a day late! Here's some things I did last week:

057: Started my week the right way by going to the cinema. I went to see Black Panther and it was amazing. I'd go see it again, but there's other films I want to see as well (and I ain't made out of money). But it was incredible, I would be okay with Marvel dropping everything else and focusing on making more things with Black Panther and Wakanda and all that.

isn't the world a lovely place?

Every other blogger/vlogger/social media person was talking about the Colourpop My Little Pony collection last autumn and after umming and ahhing about it for a while I also got the whole collection in the autumn. And only got around to talking about it today. But that doesn't really matter 'cause My Little Pony is life, always.
