you're such a beautiful mess tonight

 Dress - Vero Moda
Cardi - Grandma's old
Leather jacket - Auntie's old
Socks - Primark
Shoes - New look
Necklace - Gift
Earrings - Seppälä

AH, it feels like it's been a small forever since I actually took these photos. This was the day I decided it was leather jacket and no-tights weather, and since then it's even been no-jacket weather at times. All of that makes me excited for summer that is almost here. Not that I have any plans, I don't even know where I'm going to live and what I'm going to do come July.. But I'm going to ignore all of that for a while, and instead enjoy my last few weeks at uni and, with the weather permitting, start wearing all my summery clothes with less tights and cardigans. Very exciting.

project 365: 110-116

110 Excited that I can soon start to plait my hair properly, and in the meanwhile wee ones make me happy as well.

111 How cute is this Moomin  ball-thingy? I got a parcel from Finland which was the nicest thing, and obviously I got lots of Moomin things. This one had chocolates inside it and I think I'll start using it as a Christmas bauble from now on. So cute.

112 The parcel also had Moomin marmalade sweets! They are so good, I love the green ones that taste like apple.

113 It was very sad when the weather was lovely and I had to stay inside and do so much writing.

114 And this is what my life looked like most of the time. Pretty sure there's an actual dent in my bed where I've been sitting..

115 Cheese on toast has probably been the most advanced meal I've had in such a long time as I've genuinely felt like I have no time to cook (haha).

116 Praise the Lord, as I finally finished my dissertation on Saturday and was able to have a day off on Sunday. SO happy about that. Also, I'm thinking of bringing the middle parting back, even though I don't think my hair's quite long enough for it yet.

And I'll try and finally start answering to comments, commenting back and reading all of your lovely blogs soon! i feel like I am so left behind and I have missed this.

project 365: 103-109

103 I actually left the house! But forgot to take my camera with me, ha..

104 I spent the day at the archives and had such a productive day. Kew is so pretty and it was the loveliest day in London. Although, I basically just sat inside all day, I quite enjoyed my Tuesday. (The fact that the archives' restaurant didn't have bagels this day was a bit of a let down, though.)

105 Birthday bbqs and surprise parties:-)

106 I have this (Moomin) card that I got from my mum in first year that has little lights you can switch on and that changes colours. It's cute and I sometimes leave it on when I go to sleep.

107 Cadbury Creme Egg biscuits!

108 Pretty much my outfit of the day week life. I'm even thinking of upgrading this dressing gown into a kimono and wearing it outside.. Because if you say it's a kimono it's totally different and acceptable, right?

109 Looking at some wee treasures I've not worn in ages.

Can't believe it's already been a week, and I'm here again with my daily photos. After this week I'm looking forward to having less uni work for a while though, and getting back into blogging and other activities, like leaving my room. (Haha. Seriously, though.) So let's all look forward to that and hope that I finally get this dissertation finished!

Hope you've all had a lovely start to this week! Let me know if you've been doing anything fun or have nice plans for this week so I can live vicariously through you!

project 365: 096-102

096 My house is like a prison right now as I'm trying not to allow myself to leave it, haha. But as it was still Easter Monday, I didn't get much work done and instead continued watching TV and eating Easter eggs.. It felt good at the time, now I'm despairing with my dissertation.

097 The last of my Easter treats. The Moomin filled liquorice is my favourite thing (not filled with Moomins, but raspberry and blueberry). And the new popcorn chocolate was so good. Can I have some more, please?

098 Dissertation things. Cannot wait for this not to be a part of my life anymore.

099 How cute is my lil' Moomin pillowcase? :-)

100 I really wanted roast potatoes on Friday, so I made a mini-roast!

101 Brought this wee thing back on my wall. It's still very appropriate.

102 This is the only photo I have from Sunday, and I have dust in my hair. Who has dust in their hair? Apparently I do, and this isn't even the first time.. Is this a sign that I should move and go outside a little more often?

post-easter

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! I was going to get up early on Easter morning to go to church, but the 5am alarm was quite quickly ignored.. But I had the loveliest few days eating all the eggs, chicken, chocolate and other food. As well as painting all my Mignon eggs and taking a break from studying. The break may have stretched itself to become a little longer than I meant it to be, but who can resist the powers of Netflix. I'm too weak for that, haha. Now it's a bit sad that there's no more chocolate and that I'll have to get back to my dissertation.

project 365: 089-095

089 Kind of excited that I can get most of my hair into a bun.

090 Preparing for Easter with all the Mini Eggs in my Moomin egg. At this point my sweets&chocolate lent was starting to be a bit of a pain, haha.

091  First of April in my Moomin calendar and a rainy day. I'm fine with having rainy days in April though because April showers bring May flowers, and I need to stay inside doing uni work anyway.

092 Some of my neighbours have really lovely flowers and I want to start gardening myself too, haha:-)

093 All the books I was going to read during Easter. You can guess how many I've read so far...

094 Wee chicks.

095 Easter! I love Easter. I spent quite a while painting all my Mignon chocolate eggs (and am still not any good at painting, haha) and even more time eating all the chocolate and other food.

paddingtonesque

Top - Primark
Shorts - H&M
Coat - Urban Outfitters
Shoes - New look
Rucksack - Amazon

Just thought I'd do a quick outfit photo of what I wore in London, although it feels like this was ages ago already and you've pretty much seen this if you've had a read through any of my recent posts. We spent a lot of time walking or taking the tube around London, so basically my outfit for these few days was only this blue coat, black tights and these shoes, haha. And underneath a varying mix of patterns. This may have been the second time already that some random (guy) has commented that it's too cold to show my midriff yet. But it was sunny in between the gusts of wind, which means that clearly it's not too cold. I was still wearing a winter coat so that was weather appropriate as well. Without the fur lining of the hood, this coat reminds me of Paddington (Did any of you watch the new movie, it was so adorable!). I love Paddington. As much as I'm happy about the weather being warmer and spring pretty much being here, I'm sad that I've had to say goodbye to my wee winter coat. It didn't get to be worn that much this past winter!

Also, you'll be glad to know that this was the last of my London posts, haha. But I still need to make my next trip as I've been really unprepared with my planning. So it's well possible that there'll be more London posts in the future. (Also, as soon as I know when I'm going, I'm still accepting applications to become my theatre pal..)

Photos are by Johanna and Jenna. One of them has a blog that's in Finnish, that you can check out if you want to! :-)

the seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake

How mad does this fish look?

And how done with life does this turtle look?

I have a lot of mixed feelings about aquariums and zoos. As much as I love them and seeing animals and things I most likely wouldn't otherwise get to see, they make me really depressed at the same time. A lot of them just look so apathetic and miserable, and it looks like some of them don't have that much space to live. Then again I don't really know how large their territory would be in the outside world anyway. And what might look apathetic to me might be their regular resting face. Often if you see an animal laying in one place that can be due to it just having a nice warm spot there and it won't want to move. And a lot of them have been born in captivity so they are likely not to survive in the wild. So, I do love seeing them. I especially find the world under water fascinating, it's just so different and you never see this kind of stuff. I still dream  of being a red-capped little helper on the Calypso and seeing all these wee ones in the sea. And I did sign a few petitions to save the whales while at Sea Life, so I hope that evens this out.
