let's get to know each other!

This is actually a tumblr thing, but I thought it'd be fun to do:

Let's get to know each other!
  • 1: What eye color do you find sexiest? I love blue eyes, though really deep brown ones are nice too.
  • 2: White, milk, or dark chocolate mocha? Probably milk, I'm not much of a mocha person!
  • 3: If you could get a Sharpie tattoo on your back, what would it be? I don't know why I'd want a sharpie tattoo, and not on my back anyway.. The only tattoos I've ever considered were a Harry Potter tattoo on my wrists (The Deathly Hallows symbol or Expecto Patronum) and a tribute tattoo of my cat's name round my left ring finger. So, I'd get one of those.
  • 4: Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it? The smallest town. But I loved my wee village.
  • 5: Your favorite adult as a child? (and not your parents, if they were your favorite) If parents aren't taken into account, I'd say my grandmother. Maybe even if parents were taken into account. Funnily enough, as I grew older I started liking my grandpa more than grandma:-)
  • 6: What kind of smoothie sounds really good right now? Ah, any kind... I once had this amazing smoothie in a wee Scottish cafe and I can't remember what was in it. That'd be good!
  • 7: Most embarrassing moment from your elementary school years? This isn't the most embarrassing, but anyway. I think we were supposed to draw some kind of aliens, and I wanted mine to have a white base colour with rainbow coloured scribbles over it. I was always pretty much the best student at school, and when I presented my drawing to the teacher she wasn't too impressed. She wanted to have a chat in the corridor, asking me if everything was alright at home. Apparently, my drawing made her think I was being abused at home which had traumatized me so that I had lost my artistic abilities...
  • 8: Most embarrassing moment from your middle school years? I actually can't think of anything that embarrassing for any of these, although my whole existence has been filled with embarrassing moments, haha! Well, we once had these presentations that were filmed on tape. I did mine with my then-best-friend Liz, and everyone had worked on their presentation for about 3 weeks. I started the presentation, but didn't talk for even a minute when I started laughing uncontrollably (probably said something wrong and thought it was funny) and had to hand my part of the presentation to Liz. And there was a video of me laughing for more than five minutes while poor Liz was trying to get the presentation done.
  • 9: Most embarrassing moment from your high school years? From high school most of my embarrassing moments were boy-related. Once I was going to the toilet during the break, and I noticed this boy I fancied walking past me. Simultaneously I followed where he was going with my eyes and closed the door to the toilet. My head was left between the door and nobody probably would have noticed, but I closed the door with such force that I let out a lil' scream and that still makes me feel embarrassed. Ha.
  • 10: Pirates or ninjas? Why? Pirates, obviously. They have ships, and rum, and treasures, and parrots, and songs, and cool names. (I've even got a pirate nickname for my mum. It's Captain Bloodbrow, and she isn't very impressed by it.)
  • 11: Have you ever climbed a tree more than twenty feet off the ground? Don't think so, but I could be wrong!
  • 12: Did you like swinging as a child? Do you still get excited when you see a swing set? Yess, I did. I wouldn't say I still get excited, but I do occasionally have a go on a swing:-)
  • 13: If you could have any pet in the world, illegal or not, what would you get? I really want to have a lion! (Or a monkey.)
  • 14: What's your most favorite part of your body? I don't know, I don't have favourites. My face?
  • 15: What's your most favorite part of your personality? Being amazing. Seriously though, I'd say I'm loyal&trustworthy.
  • 16: Madonna or Lady Gaga? Neither? Both? Who cares? Not a massive fan of either, but I'd go for Lady Gaga.
  • 17: Have you ever watched the Superbowl all the way through? I've never watched Superbowl at all!
  • 18: Have you ever watched any major sporting event drunk? No.
  • 19: What's the most delicious food you've ever eaten in your life? My grandma's meatballs, mash and brown sauce. So simple, yet it was the most amazing thing. You realize that once you can't have it anymore, and now I'd give anything to have one last meal of those meatballs.
  • 20: Margarine or butter? Which did you grow up with? Butter, butter, butter.
  • 21: Whole, skim, 1%, or 2% milk? (Did you know they make 1 1/2% milk?) I used to drink/use whole milk until I got lactose intolerance. And now, at least in England, I've not found lactose free whole milk, so semi-skimmed it is. (No I didn't, but to be honest I don't know about the %s in milk that much!)
  • 22: Which continents have you been on? Only Europe.
  • 23: Do you get motion sickness? Any horror stories? No, I don't, so no stories either.
  • 24: Backpacks or satchels? I like satchels more, but have been looking at backpacks lately. One would be so much more practical for uni!
  • 25: Would you wear a rainbow jacket? A neon yellow sweater? Checkered pants? I'd wear all of them. Rainbow jacket isn't really my style at the moment, but I'm not going to say an absolute no.
  • 26: What was your favorite cartoon growing up? The Moomins.
  • 27: If you had to have a cow or a pig, which would you take? Why? It's not even 'if you had to' but 'if you could'; I'd love to have a farm! And I prefer cows. My grandparents had a farm and I always thought I'd like to be the one continuing on the family farm. Sadly that wasn't meant to be, but I still dream about living on a farm from time to time. I know it'd be hard work, but it's also so rewarding:-)
  • 28: If you had to look at one city skyline for the rest of your life, which would it be? Maybe London?
  • 29: Longest plane ride you've ever been on? 4hours or so.
  • 30: The latest you've ever slept? I don't think I've ever slept later then 10ish, staying in bed is a different matter and I can easily do that for the whole day (or weekend)!
  • 31: Would you buy a sweater covered in kitten pictures? Would you wear it if someone gave it you for free? Yeah, why wouldn't I?!
  • 32: Do you pick at scabs? I do, but I try to wait 'till it won't start bleeding again.
  • 33: Favorite kind of bean? Kidney? Black? Pinto? The only beans I like are Heinz's baked beans with tomato sauce. And, aye, I'm even that particular of them being only Heinz.
  • 34: How far can you throw a baseball? Haha, I'm really bad, so not far enough for me to even say how far.
  • 35: If you had to move to another country, where would you move? If I wasn't living in Britain or Finland, I'd maybe want to try living in France:-)
  • 36: Have you ever eaten Ethiopian food? Vietnamese? Korean? Nepalese? How was it? I've had Vietnamese, and it's so good. My favourite restaurant back in Finland is a Vietnamese.
  • 37: Small, liberal arts school or public university? Why? I do like the idea of a small, liberal arts school, but I love the traditions&history of universities. And as I go to the latter, I'd have to pick that one!
  • 38: A relationship with love or one with sex? Love.
  • 39: Do you eat enough vegetables? No:-( But I try!
  • 40: Do you like horror movies? How about thrillers? I like both, thrillers more than horrors.
  • 41: Would you scratch a crotch itch in public? Ahaha. If the itch was strong enough, then yes.
  • 42: Do you swear in front of your parents? No, but to be fair I don't swear a lot anyway.
  • 43: Coolest thing you've ever been for Halloween? I've only dressed up once for Halloween. I was Cleopatra, so that.
  • 44: If you could change your natural hair color, would you? To what? Noo, I like my hair colour. But if it wasn't dark brown, I'd like to go either red or white(ish).
  • 45: Do you want to get married? Have kids? I do, both.
  • 46: Do you use a reusable water bottle? If not, you should. Kind of, mine's just a Lucozade bottle that I keep refilling with water. But I agree, you should use a reusable water bottle!
  • 47: City or nature person? Nature, I suppose, but I like cities as well.
  • 48: Have you ever used something other than "makeup" as makeup? (Like paint? Markers?) Haha, no.
  • 49: Can you walk well in high heels? Even if you're a guy? Yeh, I can.
  • 50: Post 5 awesome things about yourself. BRAG AWAY!  1. My eyes change colour. I don't actually like it, but it's still cool. I used to have blue eyes 'till I was about 10, when they gradually changed to green (and I really wish they had stayed blue!) and now they're getting browner. 2. I speak four languages, and will possibly start studying a fifth next year. It's not even that much compared to some people, but anyway! 3. I'm a good person. Although, most of the time I can be really cynical, pessimistic and arrogant, deep down I am emphatic and will help people when asked. And, also I care about the environment and other life forms than humans, which for me is more important. 4. I'm a part-time vegetarian, see here. I have considered doing it properly and leaving meat to my past, but let's face it: for me it isn't realistic. I love bacon, steaks, burgers and all those babies too much. 5. And the most awesome thing about me is that I'm just amazing in general:-)

You're more than welcome to do it yourself, and let me know if you do; I'd love to see your answers! :-) Here's a random gif I made (you can do that as well, if you want to):

park life

Leather jacket - Auntie's old
Cardi - KappAhl
Dress - New look

Leeds is a lovely city in the way that, if you want to, you can get out of the city and into the countryside in about five minutes. Although I haven't been exploring my area that much, I can tell you that Yorkshire has some pretty landscape, all the moors, parks and wee villages. Once everything comes to full bloom, it should be really beautiful! Today I've been to two parks, and though it was mildly windy, I had a lovely day:-) The first pictures are from Chevin Forest Park and the last four from Golden Acre Park. Also, stopped at the most charming lil' tea room and I do recommend checking it out if you're in the area. I had homemade lasagne, but all the cakes looked amazing as well! Days like this are always good.

five bees

Although I am on a sort of shopping ban this year, I may have bought a couple of items at the same time when I ordered my Mother's Day gift. To be fair, those things are the only ones I have bought, except for a couple of pair of tights that I really needed. And when deciding on this shopping ban, I didn't want to make it impossible for myself. A gal's got to buy a pair of tights, if every pair she owns has holes in them.. But I did buy this Burt's Bees set and a book, even though I don't actually need them. I wrapped the book for myself as a birthday present and will open it in August. (That's allowed, I suppose?) And I didn't actually have a proper lip balm, and I love this Burt's Bees one! I've only used the lip balm and the milk & honey body lotion (that smells amazing) so far, and they're both so good. It's quite bad how I can justify all the things I buy so easily. Oh, well.

dream when you're feeling blue

  Dress - Vintage
Earrings - New look
Bow - 2nd hand

Just a few snippets of today's outfit. After having a shower, I quickly twisted my hair into a bun. I was going to change it before leaving the house, but ended up adding a bow and quite liking it. The only downside is that my hair's still a wee bit wet after a whole day.

Now I'm really hungry, and have a load of work to do, so I'll be seeing all you lovelies later!

you gave me magical, i gave you wonderful

Jeans - Vero Moda
Top&Blazer&Earrings - H&M
Scarf - Grandma's old
Ring - New look

I've kind of been waiting for it to be warmer so that I can wear this yellow top. It's just one of those items that I associate with summery weather and rarely use when it's winter or autumn. Bright colours are for summer! And also, I love how my outfit was based on primary colours, minus the scarf.

I've been fairly annoyed with my hair lately. After having my side cut for two years now, I've started to grow it out. I've started growing it out about five times before, but always given up and shaved/cut it short again. This time I'm determined to get rid of it. And it's the most frustrating thing ever. (Well, I'd say growing out a full pixie crop/short hair is more frustrating than just half the head, but still!) It's now in a stage where it's long enough to fasten with a hair pin and soon I can possibly leave it behind my ear on its own. As soon as it has grown enough, I'll probably just chop all of my hair short(ish). That is, if I can wait for that to happen and don't go back to my side cut... To be honest, I don't care about my hair enough to be bothered about the length of it. Although, it may be hard to believe after all this pondering.

dot dot dot

This is easily the nicest and warmest day of spring! I know I talk too much about the weather, but to be fair it isn't as boring as it's made out to be. I hope. Can't believe I actually left with my leather jacket on, luckily my bag was roomy enough so I didn't have to carry a jacket around all day. I enjoyed a pretzel for lunch. Honestly, this lil' pretzel/pizza place, Ditsch, is my favourite thing. I love big, soft, warm and salty pretzels so much. As for what I was wearing, you can only see a wee bit of my dotty skirt and red nails, but that is as interesting as it gets. Here's hoping there'll be many more days like this to come and that your week has started amazingly, lovelies♥!

oldie (and a goldie)

AH. I came across these old pictures of me on flickr, and they brought back so many memories. If you've happened to read my blog for a longer period of time, you may have seen me blog about the music, fashion and dance show we had while I was in Scotland. Being an ignorant lassie, I pretended not to like doing the show as much as I did, but now two years later I can tell you that I enjoyed it. Loving my wee pose, haha!

Lately, I've been missing Scotland a lot, and really fancy making a visit. To be honest, I'm always longing to go back there. But now, after all Edinburgh is only ~4hours' drive away! That'd be so good, but there's also so many other places I'd like to go to. Places I haven't been to yet. But what I really was talking about was the old pictures I found. This one's the best, and they all make me laugh so much. Lil' divas on the catwalk!

white and bright

Jumper - Dad's old
Dress - Mama's old
Shoes - New look
Earrings - Self-made
(Strange claw-fingers - Model's own)

Yesterday I went for a wee walk, looking like this. And when I say looking like this, I mean I didn't need to wear a coat and the only whiteness was from my jumper instead of snow. Maybe we're getting a spring after all!

Also, I watched the whole first season of Downton Abbey. I've been meaning to start watching it for two years, and finally got around to it (ken, I'm late!). Can't believe all that fabulousness has been missing from my life, I love it! It's possible that I won't do anything else until I've seen all of the episodes.

too many reaching for a piece of cake

Before the Easter break my flatmate, Angel, and I baked a wee apple pie, using this recipe. She had never tried making an apple pie, so it was pretty fun! Sometimes I forget how different people are and actually found it astonishing that someone hadn't done some basic baking like this. Then I realized that a lot of people don't bake at all. I can't understand why! Baking is one of my favourite things and most things I've tried taste far better when they are self-made. All in all, it was a good wee pie. Seems like I've been posting a lot of recipes/things I've baked (ok, only two), and I still have a few things I fancy trying. Sometimes I just get really excited about baking and cooking and don't want to do anything else!
