P.s. The Victoria sandwich was guid too!
so everyone walks with their heads down and no one sees how beautiful the sky is.
I'm really loving this holiday. I've done absolutely nothing and it's been just so... liberating. I hardly leave the house, once or twice a week max. I've seen three of my friends after coming back to Finland. You'd think it gets dull spending every day by yourself but no. I'm really liking this.
I don't dress fancy and I haven't been bothered to doll up my face most days. I go for a swim almost every day so there's no point in doing the make-up and then messing it all up. Suppose you appreciate the smaller things by just lazing. At least I don't often stop and take pictures of the sky. But it truly is beautiful.

i live for food
I've spent so many days reading cookery books,
transforming these...
into this,
wearing dresses,
eating ice cream,
(ok, technically these aren't ice cream...
...but Fruity FreeZze Pops)
munching these cute biscuits,
and just enjoying the last weeks of my summer holiday.

laundry day
Top - H&M
Jumpsuit (can you call that a jumpsuit?) - London
Shoes - New look
I've already selected some of grandma's clothes that I want to keep for myself. My grandmother never wore trousers as she felt they were for men only. My sister has taken quite a few of her dresses and skirts but I don't mind because I would've had to narrow and shorten them all. So here's some cardigans I think I'll use. Oh, grandma never wore red as well. It's funny! Pretty much all of her clothes are blue or green.
I have this in a purplish colour too. They were a Christmas present for grandma and mama from our American cousin. Now they're both mine!
My stomach's screaming for food so I'd better make some lunch now. Have a brilliant day♥!

PIE
A plum pie I made. I'm starting to be such a domestic goddess! This was the first pie with the crust on top, I've always wanted to make one. After all, it's not that hard. The pie wasn't that sweet and for someone with a sweet tooth (like me...) it might not taste that good. Everyone else but I really liked it though! From now on there'll be a lot more pies in our table:) This is only a basic pastry (American stir 'n' stir crust is the name, I think.) and plum halves in between. I had a recipe I was using but I didn't follow it that strictly.. As a friend of mine once said: Laura and rules don't fit in the same sentence. That goes with recipes as well.

princesses wear pink and sleep under baldachins
Top - 2nd hand
Shorts - New look/Diy
Is love a fancy, or a feeling? No.
It is immortal as immaculate Truth,
'Tis not a blossom shed as soon as youth,
Drops from the stem of life--for it will grow,
In barren regions, where no waters flow,
Nor rays of promise cheats the pensive gloom.
A darkling fire, faint hovering o'er a tomb,
That but itself and darkness nought doth show,
It is my love's being yet it cannot die,
Nor will it change, though all be changed beside;
Though fairest beauty be no longer fair,
Though vows be false, and faith itself deny,
Though sharp enjoyment be a suicide,
And hope a spectre in a ruin bare.
Today I've got to abandon my princess life and start doing something more constructive. I've only now, after a month, unpacked everything after getting back from Scotland. My room's in a serious need of tidying. And it's Sunday today and I'll be in the kitchen all day. This'll be the 2nd Sunday roast I'm making. Last week I prepared a chicken for the first time ever and it was really good. I don't know why I didn't take any pictures as I was so proud of my first Sunday roast. Especially as it was almost as good as what my hostdad did! (Okay, I have a long way to that. Yet it was good!)
P.s. The earlier is Sonnet VII by Hartley Coleridge. Heard it in Sense and Sensibility for the first time and it's really beautiful, don't you think?

violets are blue
Shorts - Zara
Top - Gift from France
Scarf - 2nd hand
Violets are my favourite flowers. It probably springs from the fact that my 3rd name is Orvokki, which is Violet when translated. (It could be Pansy as well, but I don't like the word. I don't even use it. For me pansies don't exist, they're all violets.) I loved that name so much and when I was around 5 I tried to make people use it as my first name. No luck there. I'm quite happy to be Laura nowadays but violets are still my favourites.
