pallas

Sorry about the absolute photo dump, I couldn't choose which photos I liked best, ha! These are all from the Pallas area in Lapland, which is actually the most northern part of Lapland I've ever been to. (I'd love to go further up and cross the boarder to Norway as well!) We went in the end of August, and the leaves were only just turning colourful for ruska. It was all kinds of lovely. I swam (even though the water was around +10°C!), took loads of photos and even went for a few hikes. (People who know me in real life would actually never believe me if I said I hiked, as everyone thinks I'm so lazy and inactive, haha. My high school P.E. teacher also thought I developed a bad attitude towards sports as I grew older. I actually used to be really into sports until I was around 14, but most of my friends didn't know me back then and think I've always been a wee prick lazing around the house..) Most of the time when people ask me how it was growing up in Finland or something similar, I simply say it's orite. But it is beautiful. I like living away, it makes me appreciate things I had more:-)

Thinking of Finlandia this Independence Day, forever grateful for all the veterans and other brave people.
