two outfits for one occasion

Top - Dad's old
Cardi - H&M
Trousers - Mama's old
Leather jacket - Auntie's old
Shoes - New look
Scarf - Grandma's old
Tote - WWF

These are actually really old, but as far as I'm concerned it isn't that important! I was going out but then realized it was raining. I changed my leather jacket to a raincoat, and then felt the need to change most of my other clothes as well. This happens to me too often! Also, I seem to be wearing items from almost all of my family members, haha.. I'm not sure, but the raincoat may have belonged to my sister or brother, which would complete my 2nd hand outfit.

lazy sea green bows

Dress - Only
Cardi - Primark
Slippers -Gift

Yesterday I finished my exams (hooray for that!) and knitted this headband that I've been wearing today. (It is actually very much of a sea green colour, even though it looks blueish in the pictures!) All in all, today's been the laziest of all lazy days. I even postponed going to get some food because I couldn't get myself out of the house, haha! So what's been keeping me busy? Criminal Minds. It's a bit concerning how addicted I am and how much watching an episode after episode interfered with my revision. In one of my exams I noticed a lad who, in my opinion, looked exactly like one of the serial killers and the invigilator looked like an ex-con too. I should maybe think of watching a little less of Criminal Minds, but it's too good! (And I started from the beginning and am only in season 4!)

Also, I recently made myself a goodreads account and challenged myself to read 72 books this year. I don't know how much I usually read, but six books a month does not sound that much! If you're on goodreads, I'd love to have you as a friend! Add me?

temple newsam

A pig named after me!

These are the last pictures of my family visiting, from another family excursion we had, this time to Temple Newsam House. It's a lovely Tudor-Jacobean house with many restored rooms, beautiful grounds and a farm of rare breed animals. Photographing inside was forbidden but the rooms were stunning. We didn't see all of them because of a wedding being held at the time of our visit. (Which gave me the idea of having my wedding at Temple Newsam! It's sad that I have various options of a wedding venue, seeing as I'm nowhere near of getting married..) I did feel bad eating a burger at the tearoom and then going to see the poor animals that had known the filling between my burger buns. They only use their own stock and I must admit the beef was excellent. I love a wee farm (and could never eat my own lil' animals) and loved the whole place! Though, not seeing any piglets was a disappointment.

woodland garden of remembrance

(Haha!)

One of the reasons my mum wanted to come to visit me during Christmas was to visit my father's garden of remembrance. (And also my grandparents from dad's side, but none of us ever knew them and therefore they aren't that important. Remembrance-worthy all the same.) It's a pretty little place and it was a shame we couldn't find a flower shop that was open.

Also, can we talk about the financial profit gained by someone's death? It's ridiculous. We never bought a memorial placard, bench, bush, tree or anything for my dad. We had a wee funeral service in Finland and only years afterwards brought the ashes to England like my father wanted. Now we were contemplating the idea of buying something. But only the smallest thing would be a few hundreds and you'd have to renew it every 3/5/10 years. As I said, ridiculous. I do know having a concrete object isn't that important and one can remember loved ones wherever. Still, I'm not happy about making death into such profitable business. I meant this to be a nice remembrance post and turned it into a rant... oh, well!

she was a day tripper

Photo: Angry Lurs.
Leather jacket - Auntie's old
Scarf - Grandma's old
Jumper - Dad's old
Jeans - Vero moda
Hat&Shoes - Seppälä

These pictures are from our family road trip. On the way to Stoke(-on-Trent)/Newcastle-under-Lyme, we stopped at Holmfirth for brunch. It was a charming wee town, although as you can see of my face I wasn't very happy all the time when my family was around. (The last photo of me is most trutful about how I looked, haha.) That'd be what spending too much time with me results into, I always get really annoyed. Anyway, the scenery was lovely and I'm looking forward to many more trips around this lil' area of England:-)

a walk on the wild side

(HAHA.)

Between all the eating during Christmas we had a few family walks. There's a Cistercian abbey ruin pretty near me, and although it wasn't open, it was nice to walk by it. And I can always go back some other day. Considering that this is what I'm studying at the moment, I'd say it was a productive wee walk!

round and round and round

Raincoat - Really old, 2nd hand?
Jeans - Vero moda
Bag - Gift from Israel
Hat&Shoes - Seppälä
Mittens - Stolen off mama
Cardi - Mama's old

Roundhay Park is probably one of my favourite places in Leeds, so that's where I took my family. The weather was rainy for most of the time, but the park is worth visiting anyway. The lil' folly is my favourite and I quite like the idea of going to feed the ducks and swans, too. Across the park there's a tropical world where we said hello to meerkats, chameleons, monkeys, butterflies, birds, snakes and what not.
