I've got a habit of bookmarking everything I a. find funny, b. think is great/beautiful, c. want to learn more about/try it myself, d. wish I could afford. As I previously said, we went to see "The Mousetrap" on Sunday. I had never seen it before and it was pretty good:-) But I bet it's a hundred times better when in English!
I did these messy tin foil curls, and realized it was the first time I had curls for about 2 years! My hair's naturally quite wavy, so I never bother to curl it - or straighten it for that matter. My sister used to make tin foil curls for me when I was wee, which was always nice. Another reminder from my childhood was the white tights. As a child all of my tights, that I can remember, were white. I hated tights. I much more preferred to run barelegged. I like the look of white tights on others but have been hesitant about wearing them myself. Now that I've got a pair, and I've used them for at least once, I might be convinced that older people than 5-year-olds can wear white tights. Suppose I don't look that much of a wee lassie either..

P.S. The title isn't a spoiler, and in fact there is no butler in "The Mousetrap".

Some weeks ago I made this vanilla syrup, following these instructions  from A Beautiful Mess. I use it mainly for coffee, but it goes well with hot chocolate too and mama occasionally puts it in her tea. Don't think there's any limit on in what you can pour it into! Flavoured coffees can be so good, and with your own syrups it's possible to have one whenever you want. I'm quite sure I'll be trying to make some other flavours soon:-) And also I need to find some prettier bottles or dispensers for my syrups!

This weekend I've already been to the marketplace and got my metre-liquorice♥. They're the best sweets ever! It's a shame I always give sweets etc up for lent and now I have to wait until Easter to open my wee bag of liquorice. Also, we've been skiing with mama, and I'll probably have another go later this weekend. It's been such a long time since my last time on skis. I'm not the biggest fan but suppose it's one of the things that are a part of winter (at least in our family). And a leisurely Sunday skiing can be really lovely, once you go slowly and have hot chocolate and biscuits with you. Tomorrow we're going to the theatre to see "The Mousetrap", should be fun!

Don't think I could be surrounded by more British stuff: the London shirt, the Union Jack cushion, the royal family tree behind me. I spent one evening updating this royal family tree my dad made years and years ago. Got to add a few royal weddings and also some deaths, I think it's really interesting to find out about the lives of the royal family. The family tree shows that obviously my dad thought so too. When he got to shake hands with princess Anne in the 90s, he apparently didn't wash his hand for a month or so...

Being home most of the days has made me really sloppy with my clothes. I'm ashamed to admit that sometimes I just wear my jammies all day long.. I hope I get a job so I'll have a proper reason to get out of the house!
