uncharacteristically casual laura

 Hat, top&trousers - H&M

Well, this is all very odd. I bought this most basic t-shirt and I've been wanting to live in it, even though t-shirts really aren't my thing. I got it in size M so that it'd be extra roomy and nice to wear on hot summer days without feeling like you're about to melt. I'm also wearing these trousers after the longest time. I still like them, but I still don't know if I'm going to wear them that much.. Dilemmas. And everything I'm wearing is from one place, that never happens! Such a casual outfit, which also doesn't happen that often.

Also, I wanted to tell you all that I've had a wee change of plans and will be going to Finland for the summer. My flight leaves on Wednesday, so with all the travelling and that, there'll probably be less of me on the blogosphere (yet again). My mum has been telling me her computer/internet isn't working very well, and as I'm staying with her I'm not too sure if I'll be able to blog as much as I'd like to during the summer. Obviously I'm such a lil' wizard with technology that I might be able to fix it, but there's also a (scary) possibility of being without the internet for nearly three months... Uh oh. Anyway, I'll possibly manage to schedule some posts for the time being and I'll see you when I see you, lovelies!

thursday thoughts pt. 32

This is something I'd like to remind everyone about when I just want to have a little lie-in. I actually used to be a morning person (until I went to uni, haha), but even then I never popped out of bed. That's just not natural.

in memoriam

Without further ado, here's some of my favourite headstones from St. George's Fields. I love pillars that are slightly pompous. I love the tree that has had to grow around one of the gravestones. I love cute and a little unusual details. And I love the sweet words engraved on them.

pastel nails

I haven't done anything too exciting with my nails lately, so once I started painting them the other day I decided that it's best to go big or go home. So obviously one colour wasn't enough and neither was plain colours. The little yellow gems may have been a bit too much, but I was bored and really enjoying what I was doing. I've also been really into pastels these days and wish everything in my life was in sweet and light colours. Everything isn't, but at least my nails now are:-)

give me a long kiss goodnight and everything will be alright

I've been to my favourite place to explore again! Last time I thought I left one corner of St. George's Fields unexplored, but today I actually realized there's yet another little nook of graves that I've not been to. Even though they have removed a lot of the gravestones, there is still so much to look at. And it's a lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon even if one isn't into cemeteries and headstones and death, haha. I hadn't expected so many people to be enjoying my wee cemetery, and it actually seemed larger than in the spring. I'm thinking of making my next visit a little later in the day, so it'd be darker. But I don't know if that'll just be super creepy and if all the weirdos will be out there once it's closer to midnight..

Anyway, I may have gotten myself some new shoes for the summer. I contemplated getting these in black, but chose the nude ones that look less school girly. Not that I actually find anything wrong with looking like a school girl. But I buy black shoes far too often, so it's nice to have something else as well. And I don't know if it's clear enough, but my socks have a violet print, which is really sweet! I also got the bracelet and look forward to people asking about my boyfriend whose name begins with a C. In reality, I wanted the C to remember my wee Cleopatra. When she died, I thought of having her ashes made into a diamond/gem (yes, that might sound strange to some of you..), getting a tattoo in her honour or getting a remembrance necklace. I never really did any of that, and even though I still might get a more expensive little necklace I think it'll be nice to wear this. It's really simple but also really meaningful. I never really wear delicate and dainty lil' bracelets like this, as I'm too afraid of having them get caught on something and breaking them. This one was only £1, I think, so I won't be absolutely devastated when I lose it.

Well, this is a bit depressing. And I'm sorry that I'll probably continue on the subject of death despite the fact that this's all perceived as morbid by some.. I have loads of cemetery photos (again),  but I'll try to figure out which ones I like the best and limit it to only one more post. Yay, cemeteries!

happy thoughts

It feels like the first pictures of this set of my 100 happy days are from so long ago, even though they aren't. Here's some little things that have made me happy in the previous weeks:

1. I got so into Full House when I was supposed to be revising.. It didn't take too much time at all for me to finish the whole show, and I also rekindled my love for Mary-Kate and Ashley.
2. Some Adventure Time doodles I'd done in a lecture!
3. These three by Sleek have been my go-to blushes lately:-)
4. The beginning of my revision wall; I convince myself to do this to get a proper understanding of the chronology of events, but actually it's just almost productive procrastination to keep me away from actually reading history books, ha!
5. But I did read books too!
6. Some new things from Liz Earle!
7. Finished my first exam:--)
8. Drinking from my favourite mug.
9. And this is the best thing when you're ill.

1. I basically lived in this London jumper while I was ill. It's a favourite!
2. Revision and fruit!
3. Completed the revision wall, this semester it went from 367 to 1989.
4. I enjoyed some walks amid all the greenery, and I do actually like walking in the rain!
5. Went through a few boxes of tissues as I spent my days just sneezing. The pretty designs on the boxes were nice, though.
6. Pizza.
7. June in my Moomin calendar!
8. Three books for a quid at a charity shop. Don't need much more to make me happy:-)
9. It was my nameday and my mum sent me some sweet things!

1. Love hearts:-)
2. Done with second year!
3. Watched some Moomins after a long time:-)
4. It was my nameday again, so I bought some cakes.
5. I think it's quite obvious that food makes me happy. (Also, if you got my "boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew" reference, I love you.)
6. My new watermelon top is so cute!
7. Mmm bacon.
8. Technically I'm not supposed to eat these, but it's summer and what says summer more than ice cream. And Fabs are just so good.
9. I bought some new shoes:-) Will try to be a good wee blogger and actually take some outfit photos as I've bought some other bits and bobs as well, yh!

This one came out a wee bit longer than usually, but hope you don't mind. I figured it'd be nicer to see these closer to the time they've been taken instead of months later.. And if you haven't seen them, you can find parts onetwo and three here. Or just follow me on Instagram if you fancy, I know I'd love to see your wee photos!

et tu gardes tes prières pour des pensées magiques

Body - 2nd hand
Skirt - Self-made
Socks - Present
Shoes New look
And all the jewellery you can't see from various places:-)

Well, this has been in the waiting, if you have been waiting that is. I have honestly been the worst at blogging, and pretty much everything else as well. I'm not even going to make any excuses or promises for the better, but I do try to not disappear for ages from the blogosphere or anywhere else.

This is just something I wore today whilst running errands (and possibly popping into some shops). Originally I didn't have these little floral socks on, but as I intended to go and find some summery shoes I thought I better put on a pair anyway. And these were the only ones that I didn't think looked ridiculous with these shoes. And finding nice shoes that would look good with or without socks seems to be such an impossibility! I may have managed this difficult task in the end. But still, why can't cute wee socks look pretty in ballerinas? Or maybe I'm just being annoyingly picky. I was also very conscious of the length of my skirt. I haven't actually worn this all that much after I made it last summer. I still like that it is seriously asymmetrical, but - even for me - the front is getting just a tad too close to the watermark. I think I can get away with it and will try and don it on more often (but I also could be horribly wrong about this..).

Hope you're all well and enjoying the warm&fickle weather♥!

happiness is a warm gun

Well, it's been almost a month since the last of my 100 happy days posts, so now I actually have two ready for you and here's the first set. If you haven't seen the first two posts, and want to, they're here and here.

1. No-tights weather!
2. I was listening to a lot of Queen in April/May. How do you feel about the new album being released or does it stir any emotions in you? On one hand I'm really excited to hear the new, unheard songs, but on the other Queen has never quite been Queen without Freddie Mercury. And especially so after John Deacon retired.
3. Sleeping, though!
4. I do love receiving little parcels:-)
5. My Moomin biscuit jar is a lil' treasure.
6. I told how I used to play a game similar to this on the computer when I was wee on Instagram. I've since completed this, and wish I could find other childhood-like games, ha! Mind the times when you'd go on the computer just to play a game for half an hour or to draw something on Paint? Those were the days!
7. Painting my nails:-)
8. Buying new notebooks is always a happy occasion:-)
9. And the Victoria Quarter is mighty pretty. Even though my job hunting there wasn't that successful, I never mind walking through these beautiful structures.

1. I wish I could buy all of these books, far too beautiful! And I could spend so much time at Waterstones.
2. Blogging:-) Oh, and I don't think I've mentioned it on the blog, but I did buy the Canon EOS 60D, as you can see. Very much loving this wee baby.
3. The Revlon nail polish in Dreamer that I bought some time ago!
4. Lunchin'!
5. Lunchin' a little healthier!
6. Writing lil' lists:-)
7. I like my sweets:-)
8. All the food! I could genuinely eat this everyday, for at least a month.
9. One of the things I got in that ASOS parcel was this hat. As it's one size and my head is tiny, it is a little roomy, but I love it all the same!
