Though I didn't have any plans for my birthday, we did end up doing something rather nice. Spent a lovely couple of hours by the seaside with the mother. It's funny how the weather's always good on the 26th. Seriously, I can remember only one year when it rained for a while. Otherwise it's always sunny! :-) And the water was the warmest! All in all, not too shabby a day.
Hope your week has started amazingly♥! I've nothing to complain about (and that says something as I'm quite a moany person!). Being 20 doesn't feel that bad after all, and there's still chocolate cake for me to eat. There's some birthday photos, too, but I'll post them later:-)
Finally! An internet connection, and the boxes surrounding are starting to be fewer and fewer. I'll not be unpacking today, though, 'cause it's my birthday:-) I haven't been excited at all about my new (3rd) decade beginning, and don't have any plans. Presents and breakfast in bed are always welcome, that I won't deny! This outfit is from earlier this week. I got a parcel from my godmother in the post, and wouldn't wait till the 26th. I got this prettiest heart ring and I haven't taken it out of my finger since I put it there. I must dash now, see you later♥!
These pictures are from the new place, where I painted two rooms. I'll be staying in this peach room, and the other one I painted is bright yellow. It's only a really small walk-in closet, so the brightness won't be giving anyone a headache! I'm pretty pleased with the result, especially considering it's my first larger surface to paint. I actually was like a proper workman; eating pizza from the box on the floor, paint all over myself, with the music blaring. And when I say 'paint all over myself', I do mean it. When you see a movie etc. with someone painting in it, you think in real life they wouldn't mess with the paint like that. You know, they always have paint on their face and that. I take that to a whole new level.. I even highlighted my hair. Luckily it all came off!
But now, we've got the new place filled with boxes, and still a little this and that to pack. We've been really lucky to have the opportunity to move out slowly, but the final moving day is this Sunday. I'll probably be back to blogging only next week, if we ever finish unpacking!
Also, if it wasn't for the whole moving thing, I wouldn't know what I'd do with myself. I've been watching the Olympics for half of the day, every day. I'm not even lying. That took so much of my time that my life feels a wee bit empty now. However, this is goood:
As you can see, I still have tonnes of flower pictures, haha. These are actually a month old, can't believe how quickly the time goes.. Mama always wants to go to Kalli to see the calypso orchids and Cypripedium calceoluses (the yellow one!). They're pretty rare and you really need to look for them. I quite like rambling in forests, so I've no objections on going there at least once a year. Soon there'll be blueberries, and we'll be back to pick them all up!
Honestly, I could spend most of my time photographing flowers. I don't kid myself to believe that my pictures are amazing, but I do enjoy playing with the camera (or a couple of cameras..)! And at the moment, flowers are much more interesting than my outfits or anything else in my life. All my clothes are at the new place and I'm trying to delay the actual moving by staying here at my "proper" home. Therefore, I've been living in the same dress for three (or four..) days. I hate wearing the same thing twice in a row, but what can you do! I don't even have a bed here anymore, and I'm sleeping on an old mattress, haha!
I found this dress in a pile of clothes I'm meaning to sew/diy. Now, I can't even remember what I wanted to change about it, as it's pretty nice as it is! The dress made me think of Anne of Green Gables, I used to love the 1985 version. Actually, I think a rewatch wouldn't be too bad, it's been too long since that! On a closer look at the Edwardian fashion, this dress is nothing like that of the time, but in my mind it's an Anne dress.
P.S. Ken, it's been a wee while since I last posted.. We've had two proper thunder storms within a couple of days and I thought a lightning had broken the internet connection. With a lil' tweaking of the cables, it seems to be working alright again, so I'm not even sure if there was any real problem. Hopefully, not!
