thursday thoughts pt. 31

I feel like this in a way really describes me. I'm not lonely, even though my mum often worries about me being so. But belonging deeply to myself is something I'd say I am, and I think the sentiment is expressed so well in that expression. Also, Warsan Shire was yet another female writer that I first thought was male. It's funny when that happens. Sometimes I'm disappointed, sometimes delighted and sometimes just surprised. (What isn't funny is that I never or very rarely have thought that a male writer was female.)

Anyway, I still have an exam next week, but I'm back! (Maybe.)

  3. Oh this is so so so so so lovely. It describes me too. It's kind of sad but also is a bit empowering, in a sad way! I can't explain it.

  7. An important thought, beautifully expressed. It's so possible to identify as a lover without having one; to love people and ideas and, truly, yourself. I've never read Warsan Shire, would you recommend her?

  8. Love this quote! And I agree with the girl above in that being lonely isn't so much of a bad thing. I use to always try to hard to be sociable but I actually prefer my own company!
