taking a break

I feel like this happens every summer, so you'll most likely be used to it already. I'm going to my mum's for about a month and as the internet will be really rubbish, I'm having a wee pause in blogging. And even if it wasn't rubbish I think it might be a good idea to take a break from the internet, the social media and just unplug for a while. Which is what I intend to do for the most part. And I'm sure you've noticed that I've not been very present in the blogosphere lately. It's not even that I have nothing to blog about, as I have lots of photos and things I'd like to share. I've just felt really busy and concentrating on the blog has been the area that I've neglected. So I'm hoping that after this break, I'll have more focus and can get to regular blogging again (for real, this time). Have a lovely summer, you all, and I'll see you around September!

P.S. Hope you're appreciating my amazing Paint skills:'''')

et augebitur scientia

Oh hi, it's me, a graduate. I had my graduation on Monday and am more than happy to say I now have my degree. These three years in Leeds have been so good, and although it's a bit sad to leave Leeds, uni and all the people I've met, I'm quite excited to see what I'll do next. And even though my mum didn't come for the day and watched the live stream instead, I'm also really happy that my godfather and his wife decided to come! After the ceremony we went for a wee meal and all in all I had a lovely day. Can we also talk about how much I like the gowns? I'd wear one every day if it wasn't considered too weird. I might just become a proper eccentric and do it anyway!

Thank you to you all who've already acknowledged my graduation, and congratulations to anyone else out there who's had theirs lately!

Photo credits for all but the fourth photo go to my godfather.

baby, you're like lightning in a bottle

Dress - H&M
Blazer - River Island
Shoes - Vagabond

I feel like these might be a kind of a first and last of Leeds photos. First in the sense that in my three years here I don't think I've ever been to the river before. Shocking, I know. And last in the sense that this will probably remain my last proper outfit post from Leeds at the moment. I'm not saying that I have finalized plans, but my future's looking less uncertain right now. I've gone from the exciting uncertainty to oh-my-god-what-am-I-doing-with-my-life to back to the more exciting phase. (And like I always say, I'll be back to having a more regular presence on the blogosphere once my life is less hectic and more definite..)

Anyway, you might have seen me wearing this in the Bonmarché post and here's some more photos of the outfit. I call this 'what is the first thing I can find from my suitcase that a) I can wear to an event and b) doesn't really need ironing'. The most exciting thing for me was wearing these shoes that are one of my absolute favourites. I just don't wear them too often since they're white and I'm afraid of ruining them. Gail was the best blogger friend, taking outfit photos for me, and it's so strange to have laughing and in every way more candid pictures as they're taken by someone else! I think it's so obvious that these aren't the collaboration of me and the self-timer. I might have to trick people to start taking photos of me, haha..

project 365: 194-200

Better late than never, eh! So here's last week's photos from my project 365:

194 Yet another rainy day.

195 Been using and will continue to use a limited choice of make-up since I've everything packed.

196 I tried whether or not I could do anything with my hair for graduation, with a questionable yes as an answer. And of course this actually ended up looking nicer than what I did on the actual day, haha!

197 Sneak peak of my graduation dress.

198 My godfather and his wife flew to London and I went to pick them up to go north after a few days in London.

199 Day two in London. So happy that the weather was so good for their stay!

200 Day three in London. Before heading back to Leeds, we went to St Paul's which was good:-) (And not at all trying to conceal how awful this photo is by the black&whiteness ha..)

first proper blogger event

Last Thursday I got the opportunity to attend the Bonmarché blogger event with the wonderful Gail (who also took the above photo of me), as well as meeting some lovely new faces. I was positively surprised by the clothes, and the three outfits in this post are my favourites. It was also a nice touch to have other bloggers on the catwalk. Other than that I had such a good time getting my nails done, eating lil' nibbles and drinking the free wine. Free food and drinks will get me almost anywhere, but this event was something that would've been nice to attend even without the food. I'm really happy I got to go. Especially in between all the uncertainty that is my life, it was nice to have an evening of fun!

project 365: 187-193

187 Living that life out of suitcase(s) life.

188 How strange has the weather been lately? And how could one post without talking about the weather? Some days are so warm and sunny, and others are the rainiest ever, or a combination of both.

189 I had a day trip to Exeter. It was fun, for the most part, even though my plans didn't really pan out.

190 After being in Leeds for a few hours, I had a lovely wee blogger event to attend. I'll try and post about it as soon as I can!

191 Checking out the goodie bag I got the day before:-)

192 Pizza. (If you've not seen the link before, you probably won't enjoy it, but it's been keeping me entertained for so much longer than it should have.)

193 This's one of the things I got in the goodie bag, and it makes me happy. It's probably still my favourite lip product at the moment and I'd just finished my old one. Good timing!

project 365: 180-186

180  Cleaning day.

181 Saying goodbye to 11SMT. And of course moving out on one of the hottest days so far.

182 Being a bum in other people's houses, day 1.

183 Being a bum in other people's houses, day 2.

184 Lil' Laura in a lil' sphere.

185 A make-up tip I learned from my dad; if your lip product is getting too soft to use and melting put it in the fridge. Or just keep it there forever. Also, fairly sad that this tutti frutti lip butter is at the end of its days.

186 I've not really minded the rain, especially after the warm weather and it does go back to that very quickly anyway. Although, I did spend a wee while just waiting for the rain to stop so that I could go and get some food.

Hope you've all had a good start to this week!

The weather's been so incredibly hot lately and as I'm living out of suitcases, my outfits and I definitely haven't been at our best. So here's something I wore on a cooler day, earlier last month. (How strange is it that it's already July!) I think it's been at least over a year since the last time I took photos at this Victoria statue, but it felt like it was time to do so again before I leave Leeds. If I am leaving Leeds. This whole week has been fairly strange and I still haven't fully figured out my life and what I'm going to do next. Currently I'm just hoping to stay with friends for a while until everyone gets fed up of me lounging around and of seeing my face all the time. Which hopefully won't happen before I sort my life out. I'm actually a somewhat organised person, but at the same time I like being spontaneous, so I both like to have a general plan, but not to plan too much ahead. And being such a living contradiction I tend to get myself in not too ideal situations like this. I think I should be worried, but I'm not. Que será, será, you know.
