 Dress - H&M
Sunglasses - Urban Outfitters
Shoes - 2nd hand/Skopunkten

Here's some silly pictures of me visiting one of my favourite places in my hometown with mama. My mum used to work at these houses (that are a kind of a museum!) when I was wee and she often took me and my brother with her. I loved the place then, and I love it now. Unfortunately, it wasn't open, but we still had a lovely wander around. How great is the old mill with a smiling face? And we also found a lot of raspberries to snack on. Being a tourist in your own hometown is one of the nicest things. I've been taking mama to all the places we've driven by a hundred times and thought "I should go there one day.." So, I've been trying to forget about that one day and have a more of a carpe diem attitude and actually do all the things I think of doing.

Also, these are the last pictures of this wee polka dot dress. I turned it into something new (and better?). Will post about that soon! I'm off to explore more, have a beautiful Thursday!

"i'm hungry, mother"

 Dress - New look
Shoes - Vagabond
Backpack - Lasten oma kirjakerho (=Children's own bookclub)

This is possibly the dress I've worn the most this summer. It's been mine for a year but it's only got some wear this summer. Because the dress was in Finland while I was in Leeds. The only problem I have with it is that it's pretty much see-through. (Which is kind of a big problem, don't you think?) It goes perfectly over a swimsuit, though. And I do have a slip under the dress most of the time; a wee bit of lace peeking under the skirt gives it a different kind of look!

The backpack is only a little older. I used to use it when I was 5/6, I think. I loved 101 Dalmatians SO much. I wanted my parents to buy us exactly 101 Dalmatians, but somehow they weren't too keen on the idea. It always made my day if I saw a Dalmatian walking down the street (it still does, haha!). Even though the little pocket doesn't close anymore, I wore this lil' backpack of mine to work every day. It is so adorable, I'd wear it to uni but I'd be too afraid of it breaking. My dad's also written a text on it (that you can't see properly) saying "LAURA NAURA" ("Laura, laugh"). I can't remember why he wrote it but I do remember that it didn't amuse me at all.

pink and black shame

 Shirt - 2nd hand
Skirt - H&M
Cardi - 2nd hand/Topshop
Ring - Gift from my godmother
Shoes - 2nd hand/Skopunkten

Ah, I know I put myself on a shopping ban for this year, but I'm still getting new stuff. But I did mention the possibility of actually needing something and allowing buying it in that case. I didn't have any flat shoes (haha!), so I really had to go looking for a pair. These lil' peeptoes are brand new, even though they're second hand. I am so pleased with finding them; the price tag was still in place showing 22e, and I got them for 2! How good is that? (Also, I didn't have any pants with me when coming to Finland, so I had to get a pair, so that I wouldn't freeze in the church. You'll probably see them in an outfit post at some point.)

Then my mum got a bag of old clothes from a client. I may have gone through it and found myself three shirts... But getting free stuff doesn't really go against my shopping ban, does it? (It doesn't.) I have the one I'm wearing with some funny pattern on it, another pink one with lacey details in the front and a white short-sleeved shirt with lace. Oh, this materialistic heaven.

P.S. If anyone's interested, the black pew I'm sitting on was used as a punishment/form of public humiliation for women during the Middle Ages (and probably still after, through the 1850s). Considering that men were put in the stocks, the punishment for women was quite mild!

watermelon and church

Top - H&M
Bandeau top - Gina Tricot
Cardi - Zara
Skirt - Dad's old/Diy
Shoes - Vagabond
Necklace - Sister's old

I loved wearing this outfit because it makes me look like a watermelon:-) Not as round, but colour-wise. The bandeau has the black polka dot seeds under the actual watermelon pink lace top. And the stripey skirt acts as the rind. The only thing missing is my watermelon nails, that I haven't done in ages.

I've also been wearing a new accessory all summer, also known as a name tag. I've actually finished work last week, but I've got a couple of photos in which it'll still be seen. It's a bit silly, but wearing a name tag makes me feel important and kind of authoritative. Especially, as they don't give them to the new guides anymore. The new ones only get a lame blue tag that doesn't even have their name on it, haha!

Hope you all lovelies are having a great week♥!

working gal

 Dress - Self-made
Cardi - Primark
Shoes - 2nd hand
Bracelets - Gifts (From France/From my godparents/From Crete)

On workdays my outfits don't often look that summery. My workplace being a medieval church without any sort of heating possibilities, it's always freezing. Or at least chilly. No matter how hot a summer it is, it'll be cool inside. You can only imagine what it's been like to go to church in January when it's been -35°C outside and pretty much the same inside.. On some days I actually have to don on three sweaters or cardigans. Which in turn makes me sweat like hell when I step outside, ha!

Hope you're all well and still enjoying the summer! I was going to apologize for my lack of posting again, but come to think of it, I don't really have to. And I'll still probably continue with this one-post-a-week pace. But you know, it's alright. Have a lovely weekend♥!
