the city's a stone book

Body - 2nd hand
Shorts&Joint ring - H&M
Blazer - Grandma's old
Cross ring - Urban Outfitters
Bracelet - Gift/Avon
Socks - Primark
Shoes - Skopunkten

I did have a blue polka dot brolly to match my shorts, but I ditched it once I got to the city. It's such a hassle to walk with an umbrella among all the people and trying to get into a shop without poking someone's eye. And it was only a slight drizzle most of the time, so the only one suffering was my hair that gets so frizzy and curly! I actually like walking in the rain (I think I've said that before), but enough's enough. And today when it's finally not raining, I'm feeling poorly and staying in bed instead of going out in the sun. How typical.

Oh, and I wore heels for the first time in about a month, maybe more. I tend to be more practical and you won't normally be seeing me in heels at uni or when I know there'll be lot of walking involved on my day. My feet are in a serious need to get used to heels again, though. After walking to the city, walking around in the city and walking back from the city, my poor legs were dead. And I had managed to get a blister and a wee abrasion that was bleeding. Damn you, suffering for beauty! Usually these wedges are so comfortable (and they aren't even high!), so it must be just a lack of high heels in my use. Will change that!

P.S. Since yesterday I've been done with the first year of uni, bring on the trumpets!

my hair is shorter than yours!

New things in my life: short hair and tweeting. I've been going on and on about my hair, so I'll shut up. But follow me on Twitter if you'd like to be so kind:-) I've said I wouldn't get a Twitter but I finally caved and joined the 21st century.. It might take a while for me to get the hang of it, but bear with me. I learn quickly and to be honest my patter's so good that you'll want to follow my lil' tweets ardently. (I joke. Or do I?)

and said you needed more, more, more

Ok, so my hair isn't that short after all. Shorter, but not short. And I'll possibly chop some more inches off before finally going properly short. Cutting hair is so much fun that it almost gets addictive; I just fancy getting the scissors and doing some hairdressing!

Also, I was wearing my Nomination for the first time in ages. I don't think I've even shown my newest piece, it's the crown and I love it:-) (I got it for Christmas, so it really was ages ago, ha!) And having raspberry jam doughnuts and juice for lunch isn't too bad.

Catch you later!

EDIT// Uh oh, I did say that cutting your hair gets addictive.. My hair got even shorter after I published this post and I now really have to let the scissors be.

night outfit

Top - H&M
Pyjama shorts - Gift/Seppälä
Slippers - Gift

So, what do you do on a wee night, when everyone else's going out? Obviously you could go out yourself, but that's not what I did.. Don't know what normal people do when they're bored, I cut my hair. You can't see it in the pictures because of the full french braid crown, but I chopped off about 4 inches of my hair! And it was (and still is) very tempting to make that an 8 or even more. I've decided to go properly short for the summer, but think I'll do it gradually. Getting a full 10-13 inches cut away at once can be a bit shocking and in this way I'll get more used to not having long hair, haha:-)

Other things you do on nights like this, are doing your nails (with which I'm quite happy with!)...

...and watching films. I watched "The Exorcist" for the first time, and before seeing it my face looked like the picture below. But it wasn't actually scary, just a wee bit disturbing! To be honest, that's how I feel about most horror films. Suppose I'm not scared that easily:-)

Have a beautiful weekend, lovelies♥!

a rainbow of penguins

I drew these ages ago. I think it looks rather neat and think I should maybe do a similar one of my favourite books. The books in this collection are mostly ones I haven't read (yet). Anyway, it's looking like quite a nice day, so maybe I shouldn't spend all day in front of a computer screen!

i must become a lion hearted girl

Dress - Vintage
Blazer - Grandma's old
Over-knee socks - Seppälä
Shoes - New look
Bracelet - Dior (Gift)
Bag - Dad's old

Say hello to my new place to take outfit photos at! I don't live anywhere near it, but I go to the city quite often and have realized that the Leeds Town Hall stairs are almost always empty. So I'll probably stop by to take pictures at other times as well:-) And who doesn't fancy seeing lion statues every now and then.

Can I just say I love this dress. If I found it today, I don't know if I would shorten it. But I do like it this way as well as with a long full skirt as it used to be. And it's perfect for breezy spring weather with light enough fabric. Yet it's warm enough to wear on it's own, and I did ditch the blazer a couple of times. And I also took the over-knee socks and tights off at some point during the day... I clearly don't have a clue how to dress at the moment as I always have too little or too much clothes on!

can you dance like a hippogriff?

I don't know what it is, but I'm currently much more interested in doodling and drawing than what I'm wearing and appearances in general. It's spring and I'm dressing up so colourlessly and seem to go back to a couple of items that are easy to throw on. Still I am looking forward to the summer, and with it too seeing all the clothes etc. I left in Finland. I'm missing a few of my vintage dresses and also my sewing machine. Mostly, my sewing machine. But I hope you don't mind all the posts that are related to what my wee hands and pens have been up to!

So. I drew this Harry Potter alphabet sometime ago, with a one I saw on the internet as a model. (They're nearly identical, because I'm a copycat.) You just can't have too much Harry Potter in your life!

we are shining and we'll never be afraid again

Shirt - 2nd hand
Cardi - KappAhl
Bandeau top - Gina Tricot
Over-knee socks&Earrings - New look
Shoes - Citymarket
Ring - Primark

I don't think this shirt has appeared on the blog yet? It's been part of my wardrobe since January though, and I really like it. Loose fit and sheer fabric with golden thread and glittery buttons, what else can you ask for? I would usually pair it with a skirt or leggings, but I haven't been outside the house for that long today that I'd care. It's really rare for me to wear the same outfit for more than one day in a row, but I could literally live in this shirt. So this is actually what I wore yesterday and today. And because you can't have too much shiny items, I'm also wearing my shiniest ring and glitter nail polish. (The only shabby thing is my pink shoes, that are living their last days, poor things.)

Well, I'm off back to my history books and chocolate. Here's hoping this'll be a lovely week for all of us♥!
